Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Strategy: Conduct deep-dive analysis of sales performance and inventory turnover to drive assortment planning and markdown strategies.
- Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to negotiate favorable terms and secure exclusive stock.
- Range Planning: Lead seasonal range planning from conception to delivery, ensuring the product mix aligns with market demands and brand identity.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activity and emerging market trends to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Inventory Management: Optimize stock levels to ensure high availability without overstocking, maximizing gross margin and sell-through rates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the creative team, marketing department, and store managers to ensure cohesive cross-functional execution.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in retail merchandising or buying within the UK market.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel functions and data visualization tools.
- ERP Systems: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA) is highly desirable.
- Education: A relevant degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, or Marketing is preferred.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment with a keen eye for detail.
