Responsibilities
- Analyze historical sales data and market trends to develop accurate sales forecasts and purchasing plans.
- Manage stock allocations across multiple retail locations to minimize markdowns and maximize gross margin.
- Liaise with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of stock and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sell-through rates, inventory turnover, and stock-to-sales ratios.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and drive product innovation.
- Conduct regular store visits to assess stock requirements and provide visual merchandising support.
- Contribute to the annual merchandising calendar and promotional planning cycles.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience in retail merchandising or buying within the fashion or lifestyle sector.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, JDA, Blue Yonder).
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable business strategies.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a proven track record of working cross-functionally.
- Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines during peak seasons.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Retail Management, Fashion Merchandising, or Business Administration.
