Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive seasonal merchandise financial plans (MFP) across multiple categories.
- Lead the Open-to-Buy (OTB) process, providing strategic recommendations to executive leadership to maximize sales and minimize markdowns.
- Analyze historical performance and current market trends to produce highly accurate sales forecasts and inventory requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Buying, Design, and Marketing teams to ensure assortment plans align with financial targets.
- Conduct weekly business reviews, identifying key drivers of performance and implementing actionable pivot strategies.
- Optimize lifecycle management for all products, from initial buy quantities to final clearance pricing.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of planners and analysts to foster a culture of excellence and analytical rigor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Fashion Merchandising, or a related quantitative field.
- 6+ years of experience in merchandise planning, retail buying, or inventory management within a premium or luxury environment.
- Mastery of retail math, financial forecasting, and analytical modeling.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with enterprise planning systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or Island Pacific).
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data sets into clear, compelling strategic narratives for stakeholders.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functional partners in a fast-paced setting.
- Agility to adapt to changing market conditions and consumer behaviors within the New York fashion hub.
