Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive pre-season and in-season sales, inventory, and margin plans.
- Collaborate with the buying team to align assortment strategy with financial targets.
- Analyze weekly performance data to identify risks and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Manage open-to-buy (OTB) projections to optimize stock levels and minimize markdowns.
- Partner with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely product flow and inventory availability.
- Mentor junior planners on analytical best practices and retail math proficiency.
- Lead seasonal hindsight analysis to inform future product development and buying cycles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Retail Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in retail merchandise planning or inventory management.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with enterprise planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or JDA).
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets into clear business narratives.
- Demonstrated success in managing high-volume inventory across multiple channels.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of retail financial metrics, including GMROI, WOS, and turn velocity.
