Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive merchandise financial plans at the category and department levels.
- Partner with buying teams to align inventory investments with seasonal sales trends and historical performance data.
- Conduct deep-dive variance analysis to identify risks and opportunities in sales, margin, and turn metrics.
- Manage open-to-buy (OTB) processes to ensure optimal inventory levels across physical and digital channels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in supply chain and logistics to resolve stock imbalances.
- Present quarterly strategic insights and financial projections to senior leadership stakeholders.
- Mentor junior planning staff to foster a culture of analytical rigor and professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in retail merchandise planning or inventory management.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with enterprise planning systems (e.g., Oracle Retail, SAP, or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data sets into actionable business recommendations.
- Strong understanding of retail math, gross margin drivers, and inventory turnover mechanics.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
- Proven ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
