Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive merchandise financial plans to meet sales, margin, and inventory turnover targets.
- Analyze weekly, monthly, and seasonal performance data to identify trends and adjust inventory strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Buying, Allocation, and Marketing teams to ensure assortment alignment.
- Manage open-to-buy (OTB) processes to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize markdowns.
- Mentor junior planners and provide insights for process improvements within the merchandising department.
- Monitor competitor activity and market shifts to pivot strategies in real-time.
- Present business performance metrics and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in merchandise planning or retail financial analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and retail planning software (e.g., Oracle Retail, SAP, or JDA).
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business strategies.
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
- Deep understanding of retail math, inventory metrics, and lifecycle management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
