Are you a data-driven retail strategist with a passion for trend forecasting? Luminary Retail Group is seeking a visionary Senior Merchandise Planner to join our flagship team in New York. You will be instrumental in shaping our product assortment, optimizing inventory health, and driving top-line revenue growth for our premium brand portfolio.
You will work closely with the buying and visual merchandising teams to translate seasonal trends into actionable financial plans, ensuring we stay ahead in a competitive global market.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive seasonal merchandise financial plans.
- Analyze weekly sales performance to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align inventory levels with regional demand.
- Manage open-to-buy (OTB) budgets to maximize sell-through and minimize markdowns.
- Monitor competitive landscapes to adjust pricing and replenishment strategies in real-time.
- Mentor junior analysts on forecasting techniques and analytical best practices.
- Present business performance reports to senior leadership during quarterly business reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in retail merchandise planning or inventory management.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and retail planning software (e.g., Oracle, JDA, or SAP).
- Strong analytical mindset with a deep understanding of retail KPIs (GMROI, Sell-through, WOS).
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional partners and lead data-driven initiatives.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage complex datasets.
- Passion for the retail industry and current market trend awareness.
