Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive seasonal merchandise plans that align with company goals, focusing on maximizing sales and gross margin.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and manage replenishment processes to prevent stockouts and overstocks.
- Visual Merchandising: Collaborate with the creative team to ensure in-store displays and online visuals reflect current trends and brand standards.
- Data Analysis: Analyze sales reports, market trends, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and optimize assortment.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with the procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and efficient stock flow.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior buyers and planners, providing guidance on best practices and performance metrics.
- Shrinkage Control: Implement strategies to minimize inventory loss and ensure accurate stock audits.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in retail merchandise planning or buying roles, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA) and advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable business strategies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present data to senior leadership.
- Travel: Willingness to travel between retail locations and attend trade shows as required.
