Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the integrity of patient health records in Epic and Cerner EHR systems.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational privacy policies.
- Conduct regular audits of medical records to identify and rectify discrepancies.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of junior records staff regarding data entry protocols.
- Coordinate with billing departments to ensure accurate insurance verification and coding.
- Process release of information requests in a timely and confidential manner.
Qualifications
- Certification as RHIT or RHIA is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical records or health information technology.
- Proficient in navigating complex EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth).
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
