In this role, you will bridge the gap between conceptual design and mass production, ensuring that our products not only look great but perform flawlessly under real-world conditions.
Responsibilities
- Lead Mechanical Design: Spearhead the end-to-end mechanical design of complex hardware products using industry-standard CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor).
- Simulation & Analysis: Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to validate design integrity and optimize for weight and strength.
- Prototyping & Testing: Manage the prototype development lifecycle, including 3D printing, machining, and hands-on testing to iterate and refine designs.
- Manufacturing Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and compliant with industry standards (ISO, ASTM).
- Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams including electrical engineers and product managers.
- Documentation: Create detailed technical drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and documentation required for certification and compliance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the robotics, consumer electronics, or automotive industries.
- CAD Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software and 2D drafting tools.
- Analysis Skills: Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and FEA simulation tools.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Experience with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex engineering problems and deliver innovative solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
