Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and validation of complex mechanical systems for next-generation robotic platforms.
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including FEA, stress, and thermal analysis, to ensure robust and reliable designs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams from concept to production.
- Drive prototyping, testing, and iteration cycles to refine designs and optimize performance.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for cost-effectiveness and scalability.
- Implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design, preferably with a focus on robotics, automation, or complex electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, PTC Creo) and PDM systems.
- Strong analytical skills, with hands-on experience in FEA simulation and engineering calculations.
- Demonstrated ability to take products from concept through to manufacturing (DFM).
- Expertise in GD&T, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
- Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and lab-based testing.
