Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of complex robotic systems, components, and automated equipment using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Perform rigorous finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to ensure structural integrity and optimal performance under load.
- Collaborate closely with electrical and software engineering teams to integrate mechanical designs into fully functional robotic systems.
- Manage the end-to-end prototyping process, including 3D printing, CNC machining, and rapid tooling, followed by iterative testing and validation.
- Create detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and documentation that adhere to strict GD&T standards for high-volume production.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical failures during testing phases and implement effective design improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably within robotics, automation, or consumer electronics.
- Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor).
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, sheet metal).
- Experience with FEA tools (Ansys, ABAQUS, or COMSOL).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
