Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design of complex systems and subsystems from concept through mass production.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to validate product performance under various load conditions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, manufacturing specialists, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration.
- Develop and test physical prototypes, iterating on designs to optimize for manufacturability, durability, and cost-efficiency.
- Ensure all designs strictly comply with relevant industry standards (ASME, ISO) and safety regulations.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance during the entire product development lifecycle.
- Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to mitigate risks early in the design phase.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automotive or heavy machinery sector.
- Proficiency in advanced CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Siemens NX).
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and drafting standards.
- Experience with FEA/CFD tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of managing projects from inception to production launch.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
