We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our elite R&D team in the heart of Austin. You will play a pivotal role in designing next-generation industrial machinery, optimizing production workflows, and leading cross-functional initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems and components using advanced CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of prototypes to ensure compliance with safety standards and performance specifications.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to predict material behavior under stress.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers to integrate mechanical systems into larger products.
- Manage the full product lifecycle, from conceptualization and prototyping to mass production and post-launch support.
- Document technical specifications and create detailed manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the manufacturing or automotive industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or comparable CAD tools. Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Analysis: Experience with FEA/CFD software (Ansys, Abaqus) and statistical process control.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
