Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex mechanical components and systems using industry-standard CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor).
- Conduct rigorous stress analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) to ensure product integrity and safety.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Oversee the prototyping, testing, and validation phases to meet strict industry standards and performance metrics.
- Create detailed engineering documentation, including manufacturing drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and assembly instructions.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance during the product development lifecycle.
- Identify potential design improvements and cost-reduction opportunities without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (SolidWorks, PTC Creo, or Autodesk Inventor) and 2D drafting tools.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
- Experience with manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, sheet metal) and material selection.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
