Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of complex automotive components using industry-standard CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA).
- Perform detailed design analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to validate product integrity under various load conditions.
- Manage the entire product lifecycle from conceptualization and prototyping through to mass production, ensuring strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards (ISO, ASTM).
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) to integrate systems seamlessly and drive project milestones.
- Optimize existing designs for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and performance, identifying areas for improvement through root cause analysis.
- Document technical specifications, create BOMs (Bill of Materials), and provide technical support during the manufacturing and testing phases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) from an accredited university.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, with a strong preference for candidates in the automotive, robotics, or aerospace sectors.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, or Creo) and simulation software (ANSYS, Abaqus, or COMSOL).
- Deep understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and material science principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile engineering environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
