Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of mechanical systems for EV powertrains using CAD/CAM tools
- Conduct FEA simulations and physical testing to validate component performance under extreme conditions
- Collaborate with electrical and software teams to integrate mechanical subsystems with autonomous driving systems
- Develop detailed manufacturing documentation and work with suppliers to ensure quality production
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
- Present technical findings to stakeholders and contribute to patent applications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in automotive or aerospace mechanical design
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, ANSYS, and CATIA with complex assemblies
- Expertise in materials science and manufacturing processes (casting, forging, composites)
- Experience with DOE methodologies and validation testing protocols
- Strong knowledge of SAE standards and ISO quality requirements
- Valid US driver's license and willingness for occasional travel to test sites
