Responsibilities
- Lead design and prototyping of advanced mechanical systems using CAD/CAE tools
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal modeling for aerospace components
- Oversee testing protocols and validation of mechanical assemblies
- Optimize designs for manufacturability and regulatory compliance
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with suppliers on material selection and component sourcing
- Develop technical documentation and patent disclosures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 5+ years in mechanical design with aerospace/defense experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Familiarity with ASME standards and FAA/EASA regulations
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude
- Experience with additive manufacturing and composite materials
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects on schedule
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
