Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept to production using CAD/CAE tools
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for structural integrity
- Develop detailed manufacturing specifications and collaborate with production teams
- Prototype testing, validation, and failure analysis of critical components
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design processes
- Interface with suppliers to ensure component quality and cost-effectiveness
- Generate technical documentation and compliance reports for regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or automotive industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and ANSYS simulation tools
- Deep knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes
- Proven track record of leading complex mechanical projects from concept to launch
- Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis
- PMP or PE certification highly desirable
- Ability to obtain US government security clearance
