Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept to prototyping, utilizing CAD/CAM tools like SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to ensure product reliability and performance
- Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate mechanical components into complex systems
- Develop and implement test protocols for validating mechanical designs under real-world conditions
- Research and apply emerging materials science and manufacturing techniques to drive innovation
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews to maintain quality standards
- Document technical specifications and create detailed engineering documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical design and product development
- Expert proficiency in CAD/CAM software and simulation tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS)
- Proven track record of successfully launching complex mechanical systems
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal)
- Experience with automotive industry standards (ISO 26262, IATF 16949) highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills with systematic approach to technical challenges
- Valid US driver's license for occasional site visits and prototype testing
