Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design for aerospace components using SolidWorks and CATIA
- Conduct FEA/CFD simulations to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop manufacturing processes for composite materials and metal alloys
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration and testing protocols
- Optimize designs for cost, weight, and regulatory compliance (FAA/AS9100)
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Present technical solutions to executive stakeholders and external partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years in aerospace/defense mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Deep knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes
- Experience with DO-160 environmental testing standards
- Proven track record of leading complex projects from concept to production
- Strong analytical skills with Six Sigma/DFMEA certification
