Responsibilities
- Lead the design, prototyping, and testing of complex mechanical systems for aerospace applications
- Utilize CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS) for stress analysis, thermal modeling, and FEA simulations
- Develop detailed engineering documentation including BOMs, GD&T specifications, and test procedures
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure producibility and cost-effective solutions
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
- Research emerging materials and technologies to enhance system performance
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and FAA aerospace standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-performance industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation software
- Strong understanding of materials science and manufacturing processes
- Certification in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and project management (PMP) a plus
- Demonstrated experience with propulsion systems or structural components
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment
