Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept validation to production release using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Develop and optimize complex assemblies for aerospace applications with stringent tolerance requirements
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal modeling to ensure structural integrity and performance
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews to maintain quality standards
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to implement cost-effective production processes
- Interface with suppliers to source specialized materials and components
- Generate comprehensive technical documentation including CAD models, BOMs, and test protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for high-reliability industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and simulation tools (ANSYS, Nastran)
- Proven track record in aerospace, defense, or automotive product development
- Strong understanding of GD&T, ASME Y14.5 standards, and DFMA principles
- Experience with composite materials and additive manufacturing processes
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail
