Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept to prototyping and production
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations and thermal analysis for complex electromechanical systems
- Develop detailed CAD models and technical documentation (GD&T, BOMs, assembly drawings)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) to ensure integration
- Drive DFM/DFA initiatives to optimize manufacturability and reduce costs
- Research and implement advanced materials and manufacturing technologies
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for industrial products
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Creo with advanced surfacing capabilities
- Strong background in FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) and thermal analysis
- Proven track record in DFM/DFA and product lifecycle management
- Experience with precision mechanisms and motion systems
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ASME Y14.5 standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills with systematic approach to failure analysis
