In this role, you will lead the design and development of critical aerospace components, from initial concept through to final production. Responsibilities
- Lead Design Initiatives: Spearhead the mechanical design of new product lines using CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) to ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
- Simulation & Analysis: Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to validate structural integrity and thermal performance.
- Prototyping & Testing: Oversee the fabrication of prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to iterate designs and optimize performance under real-world conditions.
- Project Management: Collaborate with project managers to define milestones, manage timelines, and ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects on budget.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs and manufacturing processes adhere to FAA, ISO, and ASTM safety regulations.
- Mentorship: Guide junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the engineering department.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) required; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the aerospace or automotive industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS, or similar simulation tools.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and material science properties.
- Problem Solving: Proven track record of troubleshooting complex engineering challenges and delivering innovative solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
