Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept validation through production release
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal modeling using ANSYS/Abaqus
- Optimize component designs for weight reduction, cost efficiency, and performance targets
- Develop test protocols and validate designs through prototype testing and simulation
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure manufacturability and cost-effective solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-tech industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and PDMWorks with GD&T certification
- Advanced knowledge of material science including composites and alloys
- Experience with mechatronics integration and sensor systems
- Strong project management skills with experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical projects to completion
