Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Lead the conceptualization and detailed design of mechanical components and systems using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo).
- Analysis & Simulation: Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to validate design integrity and optimize performance under stress.
- Prototyping & Testing: Collaborate with manufacturing and R&D teams to create prototypes, oversee testing protocols, and iterate based on data-driven feedback.
- Project Management: Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring milestones are met without compromising quality.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs comply with industry standards (ASTM, ISO) and regulatory requirements.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in a manufacturing or product development environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in 3D modeling, drafting, and engineering analysis tools. Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Material Science: Strong understanding of materials selection, manufacturing processes (CNC, Injection Molding, 3D Printing), and surface finishing.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Proven track record of troubleshooting and resolving complex engineering challenges.
