Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept to prototype using CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD)
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to validate structural integrity
- Develop detailed technical documentation including assembly drawings and BOMs
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize production processes and material selection
- Conduct root cause analysis for mechanical failures and implement corrective actions
- Mentor junior engineers and review technical deliverables for compliance with industry standards
- Research emerging materials and technologies to enhance product performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-tech industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, ANSYS, and simulation tools
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, ASME Y14.5 standards, and manufacturing processes
- Proven experience with structural analysis and thermal management systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance (US citizenship required)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with ability to present technical concepts to stakeholders
