Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of aerospace propulsion systems using CAD/CAE tools
- Develop and validate prototypes through stress analysis, FEA simulations, and physical testing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (aerodynamics, materials, electrical) for integrated solutions
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and regulatory compliance (FAA/EASA)
- Document technical specifications and create detailed engineering documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace or high-performance mechanical systems
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Strong knowledge of materials science (composites, alloys, polymers)
- Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA methodologies
- Familiarity with FAA certification processes and aerospace standards
- Proven track record of delivering complex mechanical projects on schedule
