In this role, you will own the mechanical design lifecycle, from concept to production, working closely with cross-functional teams of electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing experts. Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of custom machinery and automation systems using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Perform detailed stress analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) to ensure product durability and safety.
- Create and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including BOMs, assembly drawings, and GD&T standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to optimize production processes and reduce time-to-market.
- Conduct rigorous testing and failure analysis to improve product reliability and performance.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineering staff and interns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) from an accredited university.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automation, automotive, or industrial equipment sectors.
- Expert proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, PTC Creo, or AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and manufacturing methods.
- Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
