Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept validation through prototyping using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations for structural integrity and thermal optimization
- Develop test protocols and oversee validation of aerospace components in lab and field environments
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure DFM/DFA principles are implemented in production
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
- Present technical findings to stakeholders and patent novel innovations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of aerospace or high-performance product design experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA V6, and ANSYS Workbench
- Proven track record of complex component design from initial concept to production
- Strong knowledge of materials science, including composites and lightweight alloys
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards
- Experience with rapid prototyping technologies (3D printing, CNC machining)
- Ability to obtain US DoD security clearance (citizenship required)
