Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from conceptualization through prototyping using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations to validate structural integrity and aerodynamic performance
- Develop test protocols and conduct physical validation of components in lab environments
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
- Interface with suppliers to source high-performance materials and manufacturing processes
- Document technical specifications and create comprehensive design documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-performance industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS Workbench suite
- Proven track record of executing complex mechanical projects from concept to production
- Strong understanding of composite materials, lightweight structures, and thermal management
- Experience with GD&T and tolerance stack analysis
- PMP or PE certification highly desirable
