Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical system design for automotive components using SolidWorks and CATIA
- Perform FEA/CFD analysis to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop manufacturing processes and assembly procedures for high-volume production
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical/software components
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction and quality enhancement
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical reviews of design documentation
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and automotive safety standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in automotive mechanical design and development
- Expert proficiency in CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Strong understanding of GD&T, DFMEA, and manufacturing processes
- Proven track record of optimizing designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability
- Experience with electric vehicle powertrain systems highly desirable
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
