Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design and analysis of aerospace propulsion components using CAD/CAE tools
- Develop and validate engineering solutions through FEA, CFD, and physical prototyping
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (aerostructures, avionics, materials) for integrated system design
- Manage project timelines and deliverables while ensuring compliance with AS9100 and FAA standards
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
- Research and implement advanced materials and manufacturing processes
- Interface with suppliers and vendors for component sourcing and qualification
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace or high-precision mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS/Abaqus simulation tools
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA methodologies
- Experience with composite materials and additive manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of FAA certification requirements and DO-160 standards
- Demonstrated project leadership and technical documentation skills
- Active PE license or willingness to obtain within 6 months
