Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of turbine assemblies using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Conduct FEA simulations and thermal analysis for high-stress components
- Develop manufacturing processes and tolerance specifications for precision parts
- Collaborate with materials scientists to optimize composite material applications
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
- Prepare technical documentation including CAD drawings, BOMs, and test protocols
- Interface with suppliers to ensure component quality and lead time compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 5+ years aerospace or high-performance mechanical design experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, ANSYS, and GD&T principles
- Strong background in thermodynamics and fluid dynamics
- Certification in ASME Section VIII or equivalent pressure vessel design
- Proven project management experience using Agile methodologies
- Experience with composite material engineering and fabrication
- Strong problem-solving skills with Six Sigma or DFSS training
