Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of automotive components using CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA)
- Conduct FEA/CFD simulations to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop detailed technical documentation including BOMs, assembly drawings, and test protocols
- Collaborate with suppliers to source/manufacture components meeting quality standards
- Drive continuous improvement through DFX (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly)
- Mentor junior engineers and review technical deliverables
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for automotive/aerospace industries
- Expert proficiency in 3D CAD and simulation software
- Strong understanding of GD&T, material science, and manufacturing processes
- Proven track record in product development from concept to production
- Excellent problem-solving skills with analytical mindset
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Experience with electric vehicle systems highly desirable
