Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept validation through prototyping and production
- Utilize CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS) for 3D modeling, simulation, and stress analysis
- Develop detailed technical documentation including BOMs, assembly drawings, and test protocols
- Collaborate with R&D teams to optimize material selection and manufacturing processes
- Conduct FMEA analysis and implement design improvements for performance/cost efficiency
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for automotive or precision industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation software
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing processes (injection molding, CNC), and materials science
- Demonstrated experience with DFMEA and DFM methodologies
- Proven project management skills with ability to meet tight deadlines
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility
