Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from conceptualization through prototyping and validation
- Utilize CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS) to develop complex assemblies and perform FEA simulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and software components
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of prototypes under real-world conditions
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and performance standards
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS for 3D modeling and simulation
- Strong understanding of materials science, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
- Proven track record in designing mechanical systems for aerospace or high-tech industries
- Experience with DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and precision
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (if required)
