Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of complex mechanical systems using CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS)
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize production processes and material selection
- Prototype testing, validation, and failure analysis for aerospace components
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical reviews
- Comply with ASME, ISO, and NASA engineering standards
- Present technical documentation and project updates to stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years aerospace experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and simulation tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and material science
- Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA methodologies
- Proven track record in rapid prototyping and testing cycles
- Knowledge of composites, aluminum alloys, and titanium fabrication
- PMP or PE certification preferred
- Clearance eligibility required for government contracts
