Responsibilities
- Conceptual Design & CAD: Lead the end-to-end mechanical design process using advanced CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor) to create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
- Prototyping & Testing: Oversee the transition from digital design to physical prototype, conducting rigorous testing to validate performance, durability, and safety standards.
- Simulation & Analysis: Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to predict structural behavior and optimize designs before manufacturing.
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs adhere to strict industry standards (ISO, ASTM, ANSI) and regulatory requirements for the specific application.
- Maintenance Optimization: Analyze failure data and field feedback to drive design improvements, enhancing product longevity and reliability.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably within the manufacturing, automotive, or robotics industry.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of 3D modeling software and a deep understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and provide innovative engineering solutions under pressure.
- Process Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, casting, and sheet metal fabrication.
