Responsibilities
- Lead the design, prototyping, and testing of mechanical components using CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD)
- Analyze thermal, fluid, and structural systems through FEA/CFD simulations
- Develop detailed engineering documentation including BOMs, assembly drawings, and test protocols
- Collaborate with R&D teams to improve product performance and reduce manufacturing costs
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards
- Research emerging materials and manufacturing technologies for competitive advantage
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Strong understanding of GD&T, DFM principles, and tolerance analysis
- Experience with automotive/aerospace industry standards and regulations
- Proven track record of successful product launches from concept to production
- Certification in Six Sigma or PMP highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments
