Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of new products from concept through to mass production, utilizing CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Conduct advanced finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to validate design integrity and optimize performance under various loads.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, project managers, and manufacturing staff to ensure seamless integration and adherence to project timelines.
- Develop and oversee the prototyping process, including 3D printing, CNC machining, and rapid prototyping techniques to test and iterate on designs.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices in GD&T, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical specifications for manufacturing partners.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical failures, root cause analyze issues, and implement continuous improvement strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) required; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Proficient in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor) and simulation software (ANSYS, Abaqus, or COMSOL).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, metal fabrication) and materials science.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven setting.
