Responsibilities
- Lead design, prototyping, and validation of complex mechanical systems using CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for performance optimization
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation including BOMs, assembly drawings, and test procedures
- Collaborate with R&D teams to implement sustainable design principles and cost-reduction strategies
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate cross-functional project timelines
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and industry-specific safety standards
- Research emerging materials and manufacturing technologies for competitive advantage
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development
- Proficiency in CAD/CAE tools with proven project portfolio
- Strong analytical skills for failure mode analysis and root cause resolution
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFMA methodologies
- Experience with automotive systems, HVAC, or precision machinery
- Certification in Six Sigma or PMP highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present technical concepts to stakeholders
