Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design using CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred)
- Develop and validate prototypes through FEA simulation and physical testing
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure DFM principles are applied
- Generate detailed technical documentation (drawings, BOMs, specifications)
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
- Research emerging materials and technologies for product enhancement
- Interface with suppliers to source optimal components and materials
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in product design and development
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD)
- Strong understanding of FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949)
- Proven track record in project management and cross-functional collaboration
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
