Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design and prototyping of aerospace components using advanced CAD tools
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and stress testing to validate structural integrity
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation including drawings, specifications, and test procedures
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize production processes and reduce costs
- Mentor junior engineers while maintaining compliance with AS9100 and ISO standards
- Research emerging materials and technologies to enhance product performance
- Present technical solutions to stakeholders and executive leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-tech industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, and ANSYS simulation tools
- Strong understanding of GD&T, manufacturing processes, and material science
- Proven track record leading complex mechanical projects from concept to production
- ASME certification and experience with DO-160 environmental testing standards
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with systematic troubleshooting methodology
- Excellent communication abilities for technical and non-technical audiences
