Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of aerospace components using CAD/CAM tools (SolidWorks, CATIA)
- Conduct FEA/CFD simulations to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop prototyping plans and coordinate with manufacturing teams for rapid iteration
- Create detailed technical documentation including assembly drawings, BOMs, and test procedures
- Research and implement advanced materials (composites, alloys) for weight optimization
- Collaborate with control systems engineers to integrate mechanical-electrical interfaces
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and FAA aerospace standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace or high-precision mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation suites
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFMA principles
- Experience with propulsion systems, actuators, or landing gear mechanisms
- Proven project management using Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Active PE license (Professional Engineer)
- Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes a plus
