Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end mechanical design, development, and prototyping of complex propulsion systems using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Conduct rigorous finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to validate structural integrity and thermal performance under extreme conditions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams of electrical engineers, software developers, and materials scientists to ensure seamless system integration.
- Oversee the manufacturing process, including 3D printing, CNC machining, and assembly, ensuring strict adherence to GD&T standards and quality control protocols.
- Perform root cause failure analysis on test data and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product durability and reliability.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on advanced engineering concepts and problem-solving methodologies.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including schematics, bill of materials (BOMs), and engineering reports for stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree or PhD preferred) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mechanical design, with a strong background in the aerospace or automotive industry.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or PTC Creo.
- Deep understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and material science, including knowledge of composites and lightweight alloys.
- Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Proven track record of managing projects from concept to production and ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical thinking and exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical data to non-technical executives.
