Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of mechanical systems for electric vehicle powertrains
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation-driven design optimization
- Collaborate with prototyping teams to validate designs through physical testing
- Develop detailed technical documentation including CAD models, BOMs, and engineering drawings
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 functional safety standards
- Research and integrate emerging materials and manufacturing technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for automotive or aerospace industries
- Expert proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks/NX) and CAE simulation software
- Demonstrated knowledge of powertrain systems (electric motors, transmissions, thermal management)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in DOE and statistical analysis
- Experience with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
- Proven project management skills with ability to deliver complex projects on schedule
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
