Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of automotive components using CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA)
- Conduct FEA simulations and stress analysis for validation and optimization
- Develop and execute prototype testing protocols in advanced lab environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) on system integration
- Generate detailed technical documentation including BOMs, GD&T, and assembly instructions
- Drive continuous improvement through DFM/DFA methodologies and cost reduction initiatives
- Mentor junior engineers and lead technical reviews for design excellence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing
- Expert proficiency in CAD/CAE tools with proven complex system design experience
- Strong understanding of materials science and manufacturing processes
- Certification in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and DFMEA methodologies
- Experience with automotive validation testing (NVH, durability, thermal)
- Demonstrated project leadership with successful product launches
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety standards
