Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design for UAV propulsion systems using CAD/CAE tools
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for component validation
- Develop prototypes and conduct rigorous testing in laboratory and field environments
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, weight reduction, and cost efficiency
- Interface with suppliers to source specialized materials and components
- Document engineering specifications and prepare technical documentation packages
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace/automotive industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation software
- Strong understanding of composite materials and manufacturing processes
- Certification in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance analysis
- Experience with rapid prototyping (3D printing, CNC machining)
- Proven track record of delivering projects from concept to production
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
